1. At first analyze a statement of the problem. You need to understand what specifically from you is required - the answer in the form of a percentage share or fraction.
2. If in a statement of the problem it is said that it is necessary to count what part is occupied from whole by something, then from you it is required to provide the answer in the form of a proper fraction (which has a numerator more denominator). For this purpose it is necessary that both numbers (both a part, and whole) were whole. If one of them (or both at once) are presented by decimal fractions, we will multiply both on ten (or on 100, 1000, generally, so far they will not become whole). Further we write down a part over fractional line, and whole - under it. It is desirable, but it is optional, to reduce fraction (that is to divide numerator and a denominator into the general multiplier.
3. If speak to us to count a share or ask to provide visually numerical data, then it is necessary to give the answer as a percentage. For this purpose we repeat the previous step, then we divide numerator into a denominator (it is possible to use the calculator or the tabular processor). We will multiply the received decimal fraction for 100%.
4. In order that the decision looked even more evident, it is possible to create the chart in Excel. For this purpose it is necessary to enter numbers: (part) and (whole ""minus"" a part) in cells of the empty table then to allocate this field and to use the master of charts on the toolbar.
