The local map is the reduced generalized generalized image of the site of the earth's surface. All geographical objects and the phenomena are represented on it by various conventional signs. Instruction
1. The description of any card begins with the analysis of hydrographic network, i.e. with the description of all water objects. Carry the rivers, lakes, ponds, reservoirs, canals, wells and springs to them. At the description of the rivers it is necessary to specify arrangement of this object on the sheet of the map (in what part of the card the river), the direction of a current, navigability (and other economic use of this hydrographic object is located). It is also necessary to specify type of river food, a presnost whether the river is constant or drying up. At the description of other hydrographic objects it is rather simple to specify their arrangement on the sheet of the map, a presnost or salinity, average area. At the end of the analysis of hydrography, it is necessary to specify security of this area with freshwater resources.
2. Further pass to the description of a relief. Define the highest points, list them and give characteristic to the general relief (the plateau, low mountains, plains it.). Define the direction of a bias of the area and the maximum height difference. If on the card there are large ravines or pits, then give information on their arrangement on the card. Further pass to the description of smaller forms of a relief to holes, congestions of stones. Also at the description it is necessary to report about ruggedness of a relief pedestrian tracks.
3. The description of vegetation goes the following item of the analysis of any card (plan) of the area. Specify vegetation type, the approximate area of a covering by plantings and a forest stand formula (it is specified near the conventional sign). Specify large natural (forests and reserves) and cultural (gardens and plantations) plantings.
4. At the description of any card it is necessary to pay special attention to road and transport network. It is necessary to specify the extent and the direction of automobile and railway roads of regional, regional or federal importance. Then the most extended routes and the highway of local value are described. If necessary carry out the analysis of pedestrian dirt roads. At the end sum up the result and specify density of roads of different function and draw a conclusion about passability of this territory.
5. Further pass to the description of urbanistic data. List the largest settlements, approximate number, social and economic constructions (the plants, places of development of mining, etc.). Also specify the most important social constructions (theaters, the museums, monuments of regional or regional value).
