Owing to gravitation all bodies fall to the ground. It is interesting that the body will fall by a surface equally, and it is unsurprising, Earth attracts its every time by force equal on value and the direction. And how to foresee what part of this body of the first will adjoin to Earth (and at experience repetition - same)? The imaginary point located on a body or out of it which is called the center of gravity is responsible for it. It is possible to define it on any body. The principle of definition consists in suspension of a body for its different points.
It is required to you
- The sheet of cardboard, scissors, pin one-core, a pencil, a ruler, a small weight on threads (plumb).
Instruction
1. Cut out a flat figure of a free form from cardboard. It is possible even not to draw it previously. It is better if the cut-out figure takes the form not of a regular polygon at which the center of gravity coincides with its center.
2. Note randomly on the edge of a point figure in three places. These marks have to be removed from each other on almost identical angular distances. Make a pin on noted points openings, diameter approximately equal to needle width.
3. Having inserted a pin into one of openings, vertically suspend a plate. Attach a plumb to the same pin so that the figure hung on a needle. By means of a pencil note at the lower and top edges of a plate of a point, lying on the line of a plumb, at the same time hold it that marks were with a smaller error.
