Reduction of density of electrolyte happens generally at a full discharge of the accumulator. At the same time the internal resistance of the accumulator increases and its capacity decreases that results in difficulties in attempt to start the engine because of deceleration of power of the starter. Let's consider how it is possible to increase electrolyte density.

1. Open traffic jams in the top part of the accumulator and by means of the special device, the areometer, measure electrolyte density. For this purpose in a glass tube in which there is a float gather electrolyte and on a float determine its density by division. If density is less, than 1.12, then to restore it it will already hardly turn out.
2. Completely charge the accumulator before, electrolyte in banks will not begin to boil yet. At the same time the value of density has to rise till 1.26-1.28. It is desirable to carry out several full cycles of charging discharge, for this purpose charge the accumulator by means of small currents then discharge up to 10.8 volts, having connected at several o'clock resistance in 50 Ohms or a bulb on 20-30 Watts.
3. After that multiply current for a while during which the accumulator was discharged - thus, you will calculate value of actual capacity. Repeat all cycle once again. After these manipulations the capacity and density have to increase. Again measure density by the areometer.
4. If after all ranked actions density of electrolyte is less than 1.26, then modify it by means of addition of electrolyte with a density of 1.40. For this purpose remove with pear a part of electrolyte from the accumulator, and instead of it add new electrolyte with a high density until density of the resulting structure reaches the required value.
5. After that charge the accumulator with small current, no more than 2 Ampere again within half an hour to allow to mix up to electrolyte. Again check density and if it less norm, add electrolyte again.
