Paint with a phosphor is used for a covering of objects which have to glow in the dark. Contrary to the name, it does not contain chemical element of phosphorus and therefore is not poisonous. Modern paints of this type usually are not also radioactive.
Instruction
1. Get any small shining plastic toy. It is the best of all if it is made of polypropylene. In spite of the fact that radioactive such toys do not do any more, just in case check it the dosimeter. Also make sure that after a while after lighting loss brightness of light falls, and then it dies away at all until the toy is "loaded" again. Do not confuse the chemical shining tubules with such toys: they are disposable, and not solid substance, but liquid shines in them. It is impossible to use them for production of the shining paint.
2. Take nippers and crush a toy in granules with a diameter about five millimeters. Pour out them in bank which walls are resistant to solvent.
3. Take any nonpoisonous solvent. It has to have property to dissolve polypropylene. Fill in granules in bank with this solvent. Wait until they completely are dissolved in it. Do not use any sources of naked flame near solvent!
4. When dissolution comes to the end, pour paint in a bottle with densely screwing up cover. Materials of a bottle and a cover also have to be resistant to solvent.
5. When paint is required, take a small saucer which is not used for cooking and which is made of the material resistant to solvent. Pour out in it a little paint. Dip a brush or a poster feather into paint. Put regarding an inscription, the drawing, or, if necessary, paint it entirely. The example of the drawing is shown in the picture in article heading.
6. Let's paint dry. For charging its light use sources in which ranges prevail blue tone. Red and infrared light not only does not load the shining paint, but also even interferes with this process. At big intensity such light is capable even is capable to discharge it in an expedited manner. In discos where "soft" ultra-violet lamps with Wood's glass are established, the shining paint will be loaded and shine at the same time. But in such mode the phosphor quickly wears out.
