When writing technical and educational texts after numbers, letters or expressions sometimes it is necessary to put a square. For this purpose it is not obligatory to install special programs. To put a square there are enough Word tools. It is necessary just to pick up suitable option.

1. It is usually enough to be limited to a square from the Word'a "Insert symbol" menu. Select the Vstavka-Simvol items in the Word'a menu... Specify the sign of a square (?) in the plate of symbols, then press "to Insert". The badge of a square will appear in the text on the place of the cursor.
2. Search of a square can be accelerated. For this purpose in the field "set" choose the line "mathematical symbols". For access to the complete list of symbols, establish "Unicode (shestn.)". The code of a square can be inserted into the Code of the Sign field at once. For a square symbol it "00b2" or "00B2".
3. You make repeated input of a square by means of the panel under the name "Earlier Used Symbols". At frequent input of a square adjust in the same window "hot keys" and/or automatic replacement parameters. Pay also attention that not in all fonts there is a square symbol.
4. To put a square even quicker, gather a combination of the Alt keys and number 0178. Before it surely switch the keyboard to the English apportion.
5. To unite both ways, type the code of a square "00b2" ("00B2") and press alt combination + x.
6. To put a square standard formatting of Word'a, allocate the two, click the right mouse button, choose in the Font context menu and note point "nadstrochny".
7. If this way does not suit you, put a square, using usual formatting of Word'a - reduction of a font and its shift. For this purpose allocate the two (future square) and select the Font item in the menu. Choose font size on a third smaller (for example, 8 instead of 12). After that on the Interval tab choose in the Shift point - "Up".
8. To square difficult mathematical expression, create a square symbol in the editor of formulas. Select menu items: An insert – the Object – Microsoft Equation 3.0. Then choose "Templates of the top and lower indexes".
9. If "Microsoft Equation 3.0" is absent, then insert an adjusting disk with the MS Office distribution kit and start the program of installation. Note the Microsoft Equation 3.0 check mark and after installation it will appear in Word'e.
10. It is possible to start the editor of mathematical formulas and in a different way. For this purpose select menu items: An insert – the Field – the Formula – Eq. Then press the Editor of Formulas button.
11. To put a square a combination of special symbols, press a combination of Ctrl+F9 and gather a line in the appeared braces: eq s(2), then press F9. As a result, in the text there will be a raised two. However, its size will coincide with the main text therefore such way is not really convenient for designation of a square.
