Quality control – types, methods, seven instruments of quality control

Any production surely includes quality control of products which important purposes – to define marriage and to check process. There are different techniques for realization of it, for example, tests, tests, comparison and so on.

Quality control – what is it?

Understand check of indicators of quality on compliance to the existing requirements which are defined by normative documents as this term: standards, norms, rules and so on. The organization of quality control means process of obtaining information on an object to determine parameters which have to be in the set limits. It consists of entrance, production and systematic control, and still accounting of models, prototypes and finished goods.

Methods of quality control

To define quality of products different technicians who at their application provide achievement of desirable indicators of quality are used. There are different types of quality control, for example, connected with detection of characteristics of the software, stimulation of its work, definition of violations and so on. In most cases on production several techniques are used at once that is important for obtaining qualitative result.

Statistical methods of quality control

To receive high-quality products on a result, often apply statistical methods which purpose is to exclude the causes of random changes in quality indicators. Statistical quality control is divided into several groups which have the advantages and shortcomings:

  • selective control on the changing characteristics at reception;
  • quality control on alternative sign at reception;
  • techniques of regulation of technological process;
  • standards of acceptance control;
  • plans of uninterrupted selective control.

Technical inspection of quality of products

To understand there correspond the products or process to the existing requirements, carry out technical inspection. Different types of quality control of products are used at different production phases, for example, during development check whether the prototype suits the specification or documentation. Technical inspection includes three main stages:

  1. Collecting primary information on an object and its concrete indicators.
  2. Secondary information shows possible deviations from the required parameters specified by drawing up primary information taking into account planned criterion, norms and requirements.
  3. Drawing up the report including conclusions necessary for development of the operating impacts on an object which was under control.

Intra laboratory quality control

Understand a complex of actions which are directed to carrying out in laboratories of high-quality clinical trials and increase in their characteristics as this controlling method. Whether quality control of products becomes to estimate there corresponds the result of an experiment to the existing criteria. It is applied to all types of researches.

7 instruments of quality control

The presented technique is directed to definition of problems which solve the first. For this purpose there is a process control, collecting, processing and the analysis of the obtained information. The chosen seven instruments of quality control are clear and experts of a different profile can use them. Thanks to them it is possible to define quickly a problem and to think over ways of its elimination. Statistics shows that with their help about 95% of failures are solved. Quality control is carried out such seven by tools:

  1. The control leaf is used for data collection and their streamlining for convenience of their further application.
  2. The histogram helps to carry out visually the assessment of distribution of statistical data which were distributed on hit frequency in a concrete interval.
  3. Pareto's chart objectively represents and defines the major factor influencing the studied problem and distributes efforts for its eradication.
  4. The method of stratification makes division of data into subgroups on concrete sign.
  5. The chart of dispersion defines a look and communication between variables.
  6. Isikava's chart establishes the most important reasons affecting the end result.
  7. The control card helps to trace the course of course of process and impact on it. Thanks to it it is possible to prevent its deviation from the moving-forward requirements.

The organization of quality control at the enterprise

That production completely conformed to the requirements specified in documents, at the enterprise use the system of technical and administrative actions. The quality control system at the enterprise is based on performance of such conditions:

  1. Careful processing and change of technical documentation that is important for release of high-quality products.
  2. Development and development of the technical processes important for production of products which will correspond completely to design documentation.
  3. The control system of quality puts development and inclusion into operation of the supporting documentation. In it data on carrying out control measurements have to be specified.
  4. To periodic check of accuracy of the measuring devices and other devices used in work.
  5. Purchase of the quality materials and components specified in technical documentation.
  6. Compliance of qualification of the working personnel to the demands made to a post is important for quality control.

Quality control department

The organization which is engaged in coordination of works on quality control at the enterprise is called the quality control department (QCD). The structure and staff of this organization is developed taking into account character and the output. The control service of quality in most cases includes the laboratories which are carried out analytical, microbiological and pharmacological control. OKK performs such functions:

  • performs the control operations provided by technical process;
  • exercises entrance quality control of the materials arriving from outside;
  • processes the documents confirming compliance of finished goods to requirements;
  • takes part in tests of products;
  • carries out the analysis and accounting of marriage;
  • participates in preparation of products for certification;
  • contributes to the development of a system of technical inspection and so on.

Engineer of quality control

One of key positions at the enterprise is the quality control engineer of products as depends on his correct work whether the products will be accepted by the consumer. The specialist in quality control has to have professional technical or higher education in this industry. Its fundamental obligations: control of work of divisions of the enterprise, observance of safety measures, ensuring compliance of products/service to the existing requirements. Besides, it sorts arriving from a claim to quality.
