State sovereignty as sign of the state

State sovereignty as sign of the state

The state has a number of signs thanks to which it also can be called that. One of the major signs, along with existence of the state symbolics, the right of taxation and others is sovereignty of the state.

Instruction

1. The state sovereignty is a supremacy of the state in the territory (internal sovereignty) and its independence in the international relations (external sovereignty). The state has the higher authority within own borders which extends to all citizens, institutions and the organizations. Other countries have no right to interfere with its internal affairs. It also defines what relations to establish with other states. Formally existence of sovereignty does not depend on population, the size of the territory or a political regime though in practice nuances are possible.

2. Sovereignty means legal supremacy of the government. It, in turn, means distribution it on all population and social structures; monopoly of application of special levers (power methods, coercion); implementation of powers of authority in law-making, law-enforcement and law-enforcement forms; to recognize a prerogative as insignificant and to repeal acts of subjects of policy. The supremacy of the government is provided by means of laws and the office of the power.

3. The inviolability of territorial borders, the principles of unity and indivisibility of the territory, non-interference to internal affairs belong to the integral attributes of the state sovereignty. In case some foreign state breaks borders of the country or forces to adoption of any given decision, speak about violation of the state sovereignty. It usually occurs when the state is weak and cannot promote the interests properly.

4. The state sovereignty has political, legal and economic aspects. Existence in its possession of territories, property, cultural property is an economic basis of sovereignty. The developed organization of the power, stability of the state is a political basis. And the legal basis is a constitution, laws, declarations, the principles of international law about equality of the states and their territorial integrity, the right of the nations for self-determination and non-interference to their internal and foreign affairs.

5. In the conditions of globalization as, however, and in ancient times, it is sometimes difficult to speak about the absolute nature of sovereignty of a single state as pressure from the international organizations, the large and strong states and their groups is quite often put upon it. And here is decisive factor whether something can oppose the state to this pressure or not.
