What is systematization

Development of science is impossible without structurization of the accumulated knowledge. For this reason already at the beginning of scientific knowledge attempts of their systematization, registration in harmonious and logical structure began to be made. This work does not stop and today.

The term "systematization" originates in Greek συστηματικός that means ordered, brought to a system. Systematization – the science which is engaged in ordering, reduction in the system of the studied objects. Scientists faced need to systematize the gained knowledge already at the very beginning of development of science, since then were undertaken and more or less successful attempts to enter the variety of the world, its property surrounding us and laws in the harmonious interconnected ordered structure continue to be made. Systematization is present at any area of scientific knowledge, but the greatest fame was gained by biological systematization. It is quite explainable as also the person is a part of fauna. Still Platon said that "the person is biped without feathers", this statement can quite be considered one of the first attempts of classification. There are two main ways of systematization: artificial and natural. For example, if to take ability to lay eggs as a basis of classification of fauna, then birds, reptiles, Amphibia, insects and yaytsekladushchy mammals will get to one row. It is also artificial systematization. Unlike it, natural, or scientific, systematization is based on natural historical development of wildlife. A founder of natural systematization is the Swedish scientist Karl Linney (1707 – 1778). By then, as he dealt with problems of systematization, his predecessors already collected rich actual material, as allowed Linney, after the laborious researches, to write the well-known work "Systema Naturae" (1735). During lifetime of the author the book was republished more than thirty times and gained the world fame. Karl Linney considered that the correct systematization allows to restore even the passed types. He made for biology the same that Mendeleyev for chemistry – gave bases of creation of a system in which to each element there is the place. Karl Linney offered also the binary nomenclature which the scientific world uses still. After Linney Antawn Zhyussyyo (1748 - 1836) who gave a concept of family and Georges Kyuvye (1769 - 1832) who formulated a concept of type of animals achieved considerable progress in systematization. The following invaluable contribution to systematization of plants and animals was brought by the famous English traveler and the naturalist Charles Robert Darwin (1809 - 1882) who became the founder of evolutionary systematization. He assumed that all types of living organisms are connected by community of origin. By the beginning of the twentieth century in systematization the main taxonomical categories were issued: the kingdom, type (department at plants), a class, group (an order at plants), family, a sort, a look. Thanks to the accurate system of classification of plants and animals, determinants of plants and animals were created – consistently to determine the books allowing even to the school student by a number of signs with what animal or a plant he deals. Presently systematization does not stand still, scientists continue work on ordering of a system of ideas of the world surrounding us. New approaches are offered, new terms are entered. The current systematization is quickly developing science using the advanced scientific methods – in particular, the mathematical and computer analysis.
