The Mediterranean coast of Spain was stretched more than on one and a half thousand kilometers. The coastline washed by the Atlantic Ocean exceeds seven hundred kilometers. Such considerable extent of the coast together with a soft environment allows Spain actively develops resort business.
On coast of Atlantic and the Mediterranean the set of the recreation areas enjoying deserved popularity among tourists of the whole world is located.
Climate on the coast of Spain
Almost from all directions the surrounded with water open spaces, Iberian Peninsula is protected from influence of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean by mountain chains. They were stretched actually on all coastline of Spain, protecting an internal part of the peninsula. Practically throughout the country within a year positive temperatures are observed. On the southeast and southern coast of Spain the subtropical Mediterranean climate dominates. It is characterized in the short and very soft winter, the hot and dry summer period. Rains drop out rather plentifully only till fall. Water as much as possible gets warm in August. At this time its temperature reaches 25 OS. Climate on the northern and northeast coast sea. It is formed by Atlantic. Winter here damp and soft, summer moderately warm. The maximum of precipitation drops out during the period from December to February, in the summer the intensity of rains significantly decreases.
