The seafarer from Portugal to the first managed to adjust ""the regular message"" of Europe with India. However swimming was not a lung, and finally Portugal (so, and Europe) gained a foothold in the country of spices only after the second travel Vasco da Gama.
Vasco da Gama is the most famous seafarer from Portugal who for the first time paved the sea way to India from Europe. By the beginning of the organization of its first expedition by Portuguese the entry in the Indian Ocean through the southernmost tip of Africa was already explored, however it was impossible to pass further. The first managed to reach the Indian coast Vasco da Gama; thereby he blazed the road to east spices and other goods of east countries, having laid the foundation for their colonization by Europeans.
The first travel to India
Future seafarer was born between 1460th and 1469th in Sinish. Vasco to Gama came from the known noble sort and dews, kind of now told, in a wealthy family, - his father held a position of the judge, manager of two cities at once: Sinesha and Silvesha. Since youth Vasco da Gama was engaged in seafaring and managed to cause a stir in fighting against the French. Partly therefore the king Manuel of l suggested it to pave the way through the Indian Ocean to India which then was considered as the country rich with spices and gold.
In the 1497th year, July 7th, the seafarer as a part of a squadron (4 ships) sailed away from the port of Lisbon. By November it already rounded the African Cape of Good Hope. On the parking the captain had to flood the become useless transport, - there were three vessels. A further stop – in the port Mozambique. Here sailors nearly died – on "incorrect" the local sheikh tried to attack (from Arabs). In the same way met sailors in other port – Mombasa. However on the third time the Portuguese were lucky, - the master of the third city, Malindi, there was a governor needing allies and who was at enmity with sheikhs of Mozambique and Mombasa. Sailors were given provisions and provided the pilot who was already swimming to India. In Indian Calicut Vasco da Gama got 28.05.1498. At first he was met with honors, however, on slanders of the Arabs seeing in Europeans of competitors, began to treat the Portuguese worse and worse. As a result it was forced to go back home.
The second travel
This time the king sent already twenty vessels which were headed by Vasco da Gama. The expedition sailed in the 1502nd year, on February 10th. On the way the seaman destroyed the Arab vessels, acting resolutely, cruelly. Having arrived in Calicut (present Calcutta), the Portuguese ordered to fire at the city. The local master ran; - its attempt to break the fleet Vasco da Gama by means of Arabs failed. As a result of the second swimming Vasco da Gama successfully came back home, loaded with spices and other goods from the East. Further the brave Portuguese made recommendations to the monarch as it is better to colonize India. Some time Portugal was a full hostess of the Indian Ocean. However subsequently its positions were lost, and Great Britain took control of India.
