The story by Leonid Panteleev "Word of honour" was written in 1941. Once the man in a garden saw in the evening the little boy who cried. He decided to learn the reason. The senior children suggested it to participate in their game in war. They delivered it to sentries that it protected a powder warehouse. Took the word of honor from it and left. There are no children still.
The man felt all gravity of a situation not at once, but did not want to leave him, decided to help him. He suggested it to run to eat home. But the boy saw that the uncle not the military to remove him from guard. When the man found the military, the boy was extended and, having heard that that major, obediently left a post. The man strong shook hands with the boy and, having left him, long could not forget about him. He was sure that the boy with such will power and such strong language, will not be frightened also of more terrible things that it will be the real person.
