Rational behavior

Rational behavior – ways of communication which use understanding of the interlocutor. For effective dialogue it is necessary to follow some rules and norms:

  1. During dialogue do not distract, you have to be concentrated on what is told by the opponent.
  2. If something is unclear, do not hesitate to ask again.
  3. To express the opinion, to give advice and to sum up the result wait until the interlocutor tells all necessary, according to him, information.
  4. If you want that you were heard and understood, you speak consistently and distinctly. If you see that the interlocutor did not understand you, you should not pass to new information.
  5. Create the atmosphere of trust and respect that the interlocutor could feel freely.
  6. Support words with nonverbal means of communication, for example touches, nods, etc.

Rational behavior in the conflict

If during dialogue to show emotions, then, most likely, it will end with nothing good. The angry state does not give the chance to adequately accept information and to accurately express the opinion. That it needs to be avoided, to learn to control the emotions and to operate a situation.

Rational behavior of the person in a conflict situation – ways of correction of behavior which are based on self-checking of emotions to avoid the conflicts. There are several ways how to get rid of anger:

  1. Visualization – it is necessary to represent itself something doing or speaking.
  2. Grounding - a way which is directed to presenting how the anger clot, passes through you and goes to the earth.
  3. Projection – implies representation of the anger which is projected on any subject, and you destroy it, for example, break.

Rational behavior and personal interest

The rational person does something to receive benefit, that is such behavior is caused by exclusively personal interest. In this case the person considers only 2 aspects – benefit and costs, and does not take into account, for example, aspiration to justice, etc. The rational behavior is based on personal interest demands a compromise in the solution of any question, otherwise the result will not be.

Rational and irrational behavior

As for irrational behavior, it is based that the person arrives thoughtlessly, without assessing previously current situation. Generally in such behavior base is the belief in positive result, besides, that the person does not understand at all, how exactly it will be reached.
