How many does the kiss last? On average, couple of minutes, or perhaps a little longer. You will surprise with it nobody. And here the Thai couple could set up a record with the kiss which was lasting long so that there will be not soon persons interested to beat it.
You will seldom see Thais kissing. Neither on the street, nor at cinema. Even at a wedding the kiss on the cheek causes dissatisfied exclamation among the shocked guests. In their tradition a kiss - business intimate, inaccessible for others eyes. The Thai kiss or ""hom gam"" is rather gentle obnyukhivaniye of cheeks. Nevertheless, the amusement park of ""Ripleys Believe It or Not"" in Pattaya organized the marathon of kisses devoted to St. Valentine's Day and passing on February 12-14, 2013.
From drinks at a competition water, coffee, milk and juice were offered. It was possible to drink them through a straw, at the same time, without stopping kissing.

The competition started at 6 in the morning on Sunday, and winners were declared on Tuesday late at night. Either married couples, or couples with serious intentions were allowed to participation. Juries checked existence of marriage certficates and letters from the parents certifying the fact that the guy and the girl meet long ago. It was authorized to contestants to eat, drink and visit a toilet provided that they will not stop embracing each other and their lips will not be opened. It was watched by employees of a marathon. It was forbidden to sit and sleep. Though at many such event can raise a smile, but this heartrending experience. One of participants even fainted in half an hour after the beginning of a competition. 14 couples among which there was one married couple at the age of about 70 years took part in a marathon. Organizers of the event declared that the purpose of a marathon is to show force and true value of love, to stand and kiss during such long time very difficult: couples has to support each other and help to overcome physical difficulties.
Marathon of kisses was followed by lyrical compositions. Many couples danced (some of them barefoot). Poses from yoga helped to hold balance.
Winners
The husband and wife Ekkashay and Laksana Tiranarat from Bangkok became winners of a marathon on the longest kiss. Their kiss lasted 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds. Tired and exhausted, they could hardly smile when they to them awarded a prize - rings with diamonds worth 50,000 baht and a monetary prize of 100,000 baht. Couple admitted that the gift of organizers means to them more, than a title "the most kissing in the world". Especially as their record will get not at once on the Guinness Books of Records pages as demands preliminary verification of the edition by representatives. Ekkashay and Laksana broke the previous record on the longest kiss which was put in 2012 by gay couple from Thailand though their achievements officially were not recorded. In the Guinness Book of Records the previous record is registered for lovers from Germany who in 2009 kissed for 32 hours, 7 minutes and 14 seconds.
