Traditions of national Cuban dance formed the basis of big and popular category of modern choreography "Latina". Accurate rhythms, incendiary music, bright emotions – all this unites the cha-cha-cha, salsa, the mambo, the tango and many other Latin American motives.
Cuba – the island of freedom, the hot sun and passionate temperament! Only there could be incendiary and rhythmical dances known under the general name "Latina". In these dances the mixture of cultural traditions of the people of different continents is brightly traced. Rhythmical fight of the African drums is complemented with melodious sound of the guitar. Music which stirs blood and forces to dance is born. Dances of Cuba are all well-known:

History of rhythms
Roots of incendiary Cuban rhythms should be looked for in Africa. Her aboriginals brought by slaves to Europe and North America remained faithful to the culture on others earth, preserved traditions and passed them between future generations. The Latin American music and the Cuban national dance have religious implication in the basis, and the drumbeat intended for adulating of the African gods. To this day on the island there are secret communities which store and carefully pass hundreds of drumbeats which were used in religious practices. In the 19th century the American military who very much like the culture of national rhythms and acquainted with them all America came to Cuba. Distribution of rhythmical movements to the sound of music in Latina style was promoted also by the Prohibition in the USA – Americans came to Cuba massively where alcohol was off-the-shelf. The American radio stations soon began to pass the Cuban music. And soon learned dancing rhythms and fell in love with the whole world.
Types of Latina style
It is hard to say what dance is national Cuban. All Latin American styles intertwined, added each other, gave rise to new dance moves. However, despite this, the Cuban it is considered to be: to the meringue, samba, curbstone, mamba, kumbiya, to the bolero, point, Cha-cha-cha, salsa, tango and bachata. Dances of Cuba are various, but are united by sensuality, passion and the accurate rhythm. In the 20th century the Latin American rhythms were included into the program of dancing tournaments and competitions. For participants it is considered to take prestigiously prizes on these competitions, having shown the skill of the true dancer in emotions and incendiary movements.
