However Kobuleti's development considerably was resumed soon after approach of the Soviet power – Bolsheviks managed to note all pluses of this corner and made the decision on arrangement here of the full-fledged resort which would be ready to accept a large number of vacationers annually.
Finally, and it happened. Kobuleti was considerably improved, sanatoria, boarding houses and holiday houses grew here, and throughout all Soviet period the city was rather popular both among the population of Georgia, and among inhabitants of other republics of the USSR. Besides infrastructure for rest, a number of the industrial enterprises and also institutions of cultural and educational character grew here. In the city the museums, theaters appeared. So, Kobuleti became the important center of all Adjara. The proximity from Batumi provided continuous inflow of people, and the city began to blossom in the eyes.
During the late Soviet period of Kobuleti it was quite famous and very popular. There were many holiday houses and other places where it was possible not only to have a rest, but also to carry out prevention of an organism, to undergo medical procedures. The vast majority of sanatoria was related to the Ministry of Defence, however there were also those which belonged to other departments. So, Kobuleti became at all is not less known among health-resort visitors, than Sukhumi, Pitsunda, Gagra, Sochi and other similar places.
On a wave 90-hkh years soon after disorder of the Union of Kobuleti endured a certain decline. To the ministries had no time for sanatoria, and most of them stayed in desolation, suffering from absence of vacationers who often have nothing was to go here. However soon after stabilization of a situation the picture began to change promptly – the city found the niche and in the conditions of market economy. In other words, builders and investors who planned to develop the business in Kobuleti, to construct something or in other ways to make the contribution to development of the city, received noticeable tax benefits. Certainly, for many of them it was very favorable therefore Kobuleti's development considerably accelerated, and shortly he became much better, than was.
Kobuleti today is quite modern and in every sense the comfortable resort. Here come both residents of Georgia, and foreigners. Many vacationers go from the CIS countries here – including, from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. There come tourists from Armenia, Azerbaijan and other states. Kobuleti is represented is not worse than other resorts at all. Udobnaya Embankment, magnificent infrastructure, mineral water, marvelous climate and fresh air – here that waits for each guest here.
