In the world there are many any given places of the conditions for life which are at first sight deprived of all. The mankind christened such places deserts. On the planet Earth exists very many various deserts. Some of them – hot all the year round, and in others the summer is succeeded by the real winter. Besides, intolerable living conditions in the desert equipped some animals with an opportunity to cope with high temperature peculiar. For example, desert hares, having a rest in a shadow, give heat by means of the large ears. Many desert birds (for example, owls) bring heat out of an organism by means of an open beak: saliva drips on a body which is cooled at evaporation. By the way, the easiest the desert climate is transferred by birds as they are capable to fly. It is curious that the desert animals having light fur, plumage, skin or scales absorb several times less solar ultraviolet, than their other "fellow countrymen". One of woolen representatives of desert inhabitants is, of course, all the known camel.
Surprising ship of the desert
Such nickname was got by a camel. And not for nothing! This animal is the only land vehicle on the desert. The fact is that on his legs there are special pillows allowing it it is easy to move on the desert sand heated by the sun. Besides, in his stomach water, and a hump – the real storeroom of the fats necessary for long movements of a long distance wonderfully collects.
