Sumatransky barbusa – who it?
These are popular aquarium fishes from a sort of barbus. Their second name – sumatransky puntiusa. In the nature these creations live in reservoirs of the islands of Kalimantan, Sumatra, they can be met in the basins of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia and also in Thailand. Sumatransky barbusa are very active small fishes which life expectancy makes about four years. The distinctive feature of these creations - ability is indefinitely. To avoid unpleasant consequences, sterns barbusa should give in the small portions.
In the nature the sizes of sumatransky barbus reach seven centimeters in length, however in an aquarium these creations are capable to grow only to four centimeters. Barbusa are characterized by the little body of golden color flattened from sides. On small fishes several black vertical strips are seen. The back fin at barbus is painted in coal-black color with a bright red fringing. Other fins at males have red color, and at females – pale pinkish.

These small fishes reach mature age by seventh month of the life. It is remarkable that they can spawn in the general aquarium. Nevertheless, it is expedient to carry out cultivation of sumatransky barbus in the separate aquarium which is specially allocated for these purposes. Otherwise caviar and whitebaits will be eaten by other fishes. It is necessary to lay fine-leaved plants on a bottom of an aquarium-nerestovika, having accurately pressed them a special separator grid. Water temperature is carried to 28 wasps. In one month prior to spawning of males and females transplant in different tanks and begin to give them a live forage. It is important not to allow overeating at barbus! After a while fishes, ready to spawning, are replaced in the aquarium prepared in advance. If to make it in the evening, then for the morning spawning which will continue about three hours will begin. Upon termination of spawning of parents it is necessary to remove at once from an aquarium, otherwise they will begin to regale on own posterity. Proklevyvaniye of berries begins already two days later after spawning. For the fourth day from berries whitebaits appear. From the first days they independently and actively eat. It should be noted that kids grow unevenly: while some increase in sizes, others – are in their shadow. It is fraught with death of the last as the largest individuals can regale on the brothers and sisters. That not to allow it, whitebaits need to be sorted constantly.
