1. Two calendar months are considered the normal term of incubation of kittens. Errors in two-three days in any given party are admissible. The kittens who were born before term often are impractical. But if pregnancy dragged on up to 70 days, urgent intervention of the veterinarian can be required by a cat. Usually kittens from a small dung "are late", and polycarpous pregnancy proceeds quicker.
2. On early terms it is difficult to notice position of a cat with the naked eye. It is possible to define existence of embryos only by ultrasound. However veterinarians prefer not to risk and appoint similar inspection not earlier than in four weeks after fertilization.
3. Observe behavior of a cat. In the first weeks of pregnancy she sleeps more, than usually, preferring secluded corners, sometimes refuses food, but begins to drink more. Often feels sick some cats during an initial stage – it the phenomenon reminds toxicosis at pregnant women.
4. In few weeks at an animal the appetite wakes up, and desires to vomiting stop. Change the feeding mode, having transferred the alumna to three-four times good nutrition. It is desirable to give to a cat the balanced ready-made feeds for pregnant women or the good kitten food enriched with calcium, phosphorus and a protein.
5. On the third week of pregnancy at cats nipples bulk up and turn pink. It is especially noticeable at the young animals expecting the first dung.
6. It is easy to determine monthly pregnancy by the rounded stomach of a cat. During this period an animal to become less active. The sizes of a fruit reach 25-30 mm and all vitals by this moment are already developed.
7. After the seventh week it is possible to feel the movement of kittens, having put a palm on a stomach of a cat. On this term your alumna will become uneasy, will begin to look for the place for future nest. Help her, having offered the box covered with soft rags as a cozy bed.
8. In the last week before childbirth the concern of a cat amplifies. Her stomach strongly increases – for the last month the kittens grew twice. Nipples of a cat strongly bulk up, from them whitish liquid can act. From this point watch the alumna especially carefully – childbirth can begin in the next few days.
