Expression "puppyish joy" arose not from scratch. Dogs often enjoy appearance of the owner or other familiar person, and they express the joy to those that begin to jump and try to touch you paws. Most often the similar habit is observed at puppies and at young dogs, so, a situation, most likely, it is possible to correct.
Instruction
1. Try to rebuff a dog every time as she tries to jump on you or on somebody else. Give her the Place or Sit command that she just did not manage to jump. Perhaps, soon she also will cease to jump on people.
2. Begin with the softest way of education. When you enter the house or the apartment and the dog will rush on you, press it knees when it is near, do not allow to get up on hinder legs. Praise a dog and let's it see that you are glad when he just sits. Sit down, let's a dog sniff at the person. Distract something an animal that it did not prevent you to undress and pass to the house. If your dog knows teams, send her into place.
3. Try more rigid way if previous does not yield results. When the dog jumps on you, slightly hit her on a knee or hold up the knee that the dog rested against it a breast. Do it very softly, do not cause to a dog of pain. Praise it, be benevolent: the animal should not think that your gesture is a gesture of discontent.
4. Apply the following method if previous did not help. Get a spray or a water gun, fill it with water and put in the hall in the available place that it was possible to take quickly it as soon as you entered. When the dog tries to jump on you, scatter her water in a nose or in eyes (you only watch that the stream was not too strong – do not hurt a dog). If the dog ceased to try to jump on you, praise her and if is not present, scatter again.
