The habitat of a hamster in the house can be equipped independently, without buying expensive attributes. As in a cage the animals are limited in the movement, this shortcoming should be compensated by labyrinths. But you should not leave such toys in a cage for long time as generally plastic which pets prefer to gnaw acts as material for their production.
Factory fabricated labyrinths are capable to resist to an impact of hamsters, and here if to make them independently of plastic bottles, then the hand-made article can become a subject of interest of an animal not only as entertainment, but also as a basis for sharpening of teeth. Elements of thin plastic can get into the pet's stomach, having done harm to his health, besides, the bottle can get dangerous keen edges. For this reason the labyrinth should be given to a hamster when it is under supervision.
Preparation of tools and materials
Will be necessary for work: plastic bottles, insulating tape, stationery knife and scissors.
Labyrinth manufacturing techniques
Bottles before works should be washed out and dried, and their surface needs to be saved from labels. The simplest option of a product has as a part of 4 bottles, from each of which it is necessary to cut off a bottom and a neck by means of a stationery knife. With use of an insulating tape it is necessary to protect edges of preparations, having pasted over them on a contour. In order that isolation laid down exactly, it should be pasted at first on ½ width, the remained edge of a tape needs to be cut on cross strips which should be bent on other party of a bottle.
Now it is possible to form T-shaped connection of two bottles. For this purpose in one of them it is necessary to make a round opening. Having applied a stationery knife, on the center of preparation it is necessary to make a crosswise cut, having unbent edges of material, it will allow to insert scissors into an opening and to cut out a circle which diameter has to be equal to diameter of the second bottle. These openings should be pasted over with an insulating tape too. The end of the second bottle which is supposed to be attached to the first should be made arc-shaped, for more comfortable work as scissors the edge of a bottle needs to be squeezed, having made it flat. It is possible to connect two pipes among themselves the insulating tape which is wrapped up around bottles, all cracks can be filled with it too. Now it is possible to start production of two remained preparations pipes from bottles, for this purpose it is necessary to repeat all above actions, having arranged labyrinth elements in a desirable combination. One of parts of a labyrinth can be made vertical, in it the hamster will not run, filling of a forage in a tunnel will act as purpose of an element. For this purpose one of bottles should not be saved from a bottom, this element will be executed in the form of the horizontal deadlock. In its top part it is necessary to make a round opening, having inserted into it a bottle neck that will serve as a funnel to which it is convenient to pour a forage.
