Pincers are dangerous to dogs that they have a serious parasitic illness - a piroplasmosis. At a sting the infected tick causative agents of this disease - pyroplasma get to blood of an animal. They parasitize in erythrocytes and destroy them. Without treatment the majority of animals perishes. Unfortunately, in Russia there is no certified vaccine from pincers for dogs yet. However it is possible to protect it from pincers in the summer in the following ways.

Instruction

1. Buy the special collar protecting a dog from attack of pincers. It is possible to buy special sprays or drops. Upon purchase of protective equipment pay attention to tightness of packing, date of production and an expiration date.

2. Apply drops or spray to skin of a dog in several places, there where she will not be able to pinch them. Repeat this procedure once in two-three weeks till late fall.

3. Principle of action of means of protection following: the active ingredient which is in drops, sprays or which impregnated a collar is absorbed in skin and gets to follicles. Then it is emitted with a grease secret and frightens off ticks. On this process the oragnizm of an animal needs time therefore drops need to begin to be applied in the spring in the period of a snow descent.

4. Examine a dog after each walk as the specified means do not give absolute protection against a sting of a tick. At survey pay special attention to armpits, a groin, withers, a breast, a muzzle and paws (between fingers) the pet.

5. If you found a tick in a dog, urgently remove him. Ask somebody to take a dog. Drip on a tick sunflower oil from the pipette and wait some time. Capture the blood-sucker tweezers and slowly begin to unscrew round its pivot-center. Sharply it is impossible to pull out it as jaws will remain in the place of a sting. 6. Burn a tick. Carefully wash up hands, disinfect a wound of a dog iodine and again wash up hands.

7. Watch a condition of a dog after a sting of a tick within three days. Symptoms of the beginning piroplasmosis are urine darkening, loss of appetite, an animal becomes sluggish, all the time lies. In this case immediately see the veterinarian if not to make it in time, the dog can die. If after three days the health of a dog does not worsen, it will be possible to calm down - the tick who bit a dog was not infectious.
