Overalls for a dog - an irreplaceable thing for walk during bad weather. It protects from dirt, a rain and snow. In shop the clothes for animals cost quite much, but it is possible to save considerably if to sew overalls independently. The beginning dressmaker having elementary skills in sewing will even get along with this case.
It is required to you
- - water-repellent fabric;
- - flannel or coarse calico for a lining;
- - paper for creation of a pattern;
- - ruler;
- - pencil;
- - velcro;
- - elastic band with limiters;
- - elastic tape;
- - threads in tone of fabric;
- - sewing accessories.
Instruction
1. Pick up light water-repellent fabric, it is possible to use an old jacket or a raincoat. Also the rubberized material with impregnation will approach. The necessary amount of material equals to height measure from withers to paws plus 10 cm. For a lining use cotton materials. Coarse calico will be suitable for lighter overalls. For warm — a flannel.
2. Make a paper pattern of overalls. As all dogs different, there is no ready template by the sizes. But it is possible to use a pattern basis, having made to it necessary changes.
3. Measure length of a back of a dog from the neck basis to a tail. Divide this size into 8 and line the sheet of paper on sections with the parties equal to this size. Then transfer lines of a pattern basis to paper. Measure length of paws and a stomach and introduce necessary amendments in a pattern. Cut out details.
4. Put fabric in half the face inside and you will find 2 parts of overalls, 1 detail for a wedge. If necessary it is possible to find also an edging though instead of it it is possible to use also a ready slanting inlay. Cut out fabric details, leaving 1 cm for seams and on 1.5 cm on a podgibka of a mouth, openings for paws, a bottom and a tail. The same way you will find lining details.
5. Make a preliminary basting. Put parts for paws of the main detail as follows. Connect points of B1 and B2, A1 and A2 and sweep away. In the same way stitch together a side seam for a hinder leg, having connected points of G1 and G2 and D1, D2. The same way sew trouser-legs and on the second detail of overalls.
6. Put details together. Sweep away in the area of a breast from E1 point to A2. Sew a wedge in the lower part of overalls, having connected points of E2 and E3.
7. Try on a design on a dog. It is more convenient to put on a wrong side that it was possible to correct seams.
8. Stitch together details of overalls and a lining on nametochny seams on the machine. Enclose them each other.
9. Put details for the valve the faces inside and stitch on three parties, leaving one long not sewn up. Turn out them on the face. Apply to cuts on a back and a pritachayta. Sew a velcro to the valve. Sew a lining to a bottom side of a fastener manually a secret seam.
10. Sheathe a mouth and an opening for a tail the edging folded double. Insert into it an elastic band and put on fixers the ends.
11. Turn in a bottom side of trouser-legs 2 times on a wrong side and stitch on the machine as it is possible closer to a bend. That trouser-legs protected paws from dirt hit better, insert an elastic tape into a podgibka.
