What cat breeds are hypoallergenic

Medical statistics demonstrates that allergic reactions after close communication with cats are observed at 7% of people. But also among them there are those who very much love these animals, are not going to refuse in pleasure to communicate to themselves with them and want to get houses a cat. And it is quite possible if to consider that there are breeds which are considered as hypoallergenic.

Why cats cause allergiesAllergy in general a surprising disease which can develop literally from scratch – still yesterday it was not, and today it can appear on anything: pollen of plants, house dust, cat's wool. But in a case with cats the allergies are caused by not wool, but the proteinaceous Fel D1 connection which cat's saliva contains.

It is possible to reduce amount of harmful protein-allergen, bathing a cat more often and regularly erasing her laying and also processing cat's toys harmless detergents.

If to consider maniacal cleanliness of the cats capable to lick itself for hours, it is clear that allergen will be present not only at wool, but also to be allocated in air, evaporating together with saliva. Therefore even if you will also not iron the house favourite hands, allergy symptoms in the form of conjunctivitis and hypostasis mucous a nose are all the same provided to you. But for amateur allergic persons of cats the way out will be found – itself can choose a cat of "hypoallergenic" breed.

In saliva of cats of protein-allergen it is much more, than in saliva of cats. Besides, the cats having a dark color, more allergens, than what have light wool, and kittens less allergens, than adult individuals.

Cats for allergic personsBy and large, dangerous protein is present at saliva of cats of any breeds, but at some it much less. Strangely enough, dlinnoshersty cat breeds, for example, concern those: Bali and Siberian. It is explained by the fact that their saliva protein content is much lower, than at other breeds. As shows experience, about 75% of allergic persons do not react to saliva which is emitted by representatives of these breeds.

At the castrated cats saliva contains smaller amount of protein of Fel D1, than at those who did not undergo similar execution.

Cats of the Javanese and east short-haired breed have no underfur and wool thin and not too dense therefore on it the dried cat's saliva accumulates less. It is a little wool and at such breeds as Devon-rex and kornish-rex, it at them so short and rare that does not even absorb skin allocations therefore these breeds need more frequent bathing that for allergic persons is good too – free cat's wool does not emit protein-allergen. And of course, the danger of an allergy almost does not threaten owners of bald sphinxes which have no wool at all. But, as well as reksa, sphinxes need frequent washing for removal of sticky allocations and oil on skin, they also should wash ears quite often. But it is, probably, the most hypoallergenic breed.
