Future parents often think of presence of dad on childbirth. On the one hand, the child's birth – difficult process during which the woman needs support, and the birth of the kid – the long-awaited moment in life of both parents. On the other hand - not all fathers want to see all process of childbirth.

1. Presence of the man during childbirth gives to the woman feeling of support and security. The husband can call the doctor or the midwife, to resemble with future mom along the corridor, to make massage, to distract, calm. The fact that the man is ready to pass this difficult and important stage together with the wife characterizes it both as careful husband and as responsible dad.
2. Dad will see the kid right after the birth if is present at childbirth. Otherwise, the first meeting should be postponed. Perhaps, for several days (depending on regulations of maternity hospital).
3. Childbirth is divided into several stages. The longest of them – a fight. On average at first labor this period takes about 10 hours, first of which the woman spends at home and on the way to maternity hospital. At this stage the help of the husband is invaluable: it can take the wife to maternity hospital, inform of bags, help to orient, where to go. The last hours of fights in some maternity hospitals to the woman can advise to jump on a fitball or to stand under a shower or even to lie down in the bathroom. The husband can secure the wife, support.
4. Presence of dad on childbirth is not obligatory during all patrimonial process. Many men do not want to see all details. In that case the husband can get up in a headboard of a bed of the woman in labor or to leave during attempts.
