Spam is harmful not only the fact that it irritates users, but also that among numerous undesirable messages sometimes it is possible not to notice one necessary. The main measures for prevention of hit of spam in mailboxes are taken by owners of servers, but a lot of things depend also on users.

1. Responsibly treat the choice of the server for placement of a mailbox. Large, known public mail services, such as Gmail, Mail.Ru, "Yandex.Mail" are best spam-protected. 2. Do not place the e-mail address in open form on web pages, in forums and guest books. It is even more reliable to place the address on the page in the form of the picture with the "dancing" letters, as on a kaptcha: the person will be able to read such inscription, and the machine - with great difficulty. 3. Do not respond to undesirable messages. Thereby you confirm that your address exists, and the quantity of spam coming to your box from the same source will only increase. Also bots often are engaged in mailing of such messages therefore your request to cease to advertize any given goods hardly someone will read.

4. Do not forget to browse the Spam folder in the mailbox. Sometimes useful messages by mistake are included in it. Consider that sometimes contents of this folder are removed automatically in several days after receipt.

5. "Train" the system of protection against spam. If the undesirable message accidentally was included in the Entering folder or on the contrary, use links which can be called, respectively, "It is spam" or "It is not spam". Further the letters which are arriving from the same sources, or having the close contents, a system will correctly identify.
