For the vast majority of private users the Internet access by means of the satellite antenna is one-sided (asymmetric, asynchronous). For it the "land" line (for an outgoing signal) and communication the satellite plate is necessary (for an incoming signal). The satellite Internet is good option for the users living in places where still 3G-mobile communication did not reach and there is no opportunity to receive a dedicated line of DSL.

Instruction
1. Get Internet access, using any kind of "land" communication. Be connected to the Internet in any available way: by means of modems Dial-up, GPRS or 3G, a dedicated line of DSL and so forth.
2. Using the available connection, collect information on the satellite providers providing service of Internet access – the name and positioning of their satellites, coverage maps of signals, parameters of transponders. Check according to coverage maps whether your area gets to an area of coverage of signals.
The list with names of providers, names of satellites and parameters of transponders from which signals are available in your area should be result of collection of information.
3. Select specific provider and the satellite (transponder).
That the antenna could accept freely a signal from the satellite, it should not be closed from it by any obstacles (houses, trees and so forth)
For definition of a possibility of reception of a signal from the specific satellite use the free Satellite Antenna Alignment program. Enter into the program of coordinate of your house (the city or the village) and the satellite. In response to input the program will issue data on location of this satellite concerning your house – its azimuth, an angle of lead over the horizon and so forth. Using these data, check whether there are no obstacles in signal path from this satellite to your antenna.
If it turns out that reception of a signal from several companions of different providers is possible, stop the choice on that option which will be the most preferable concerning rates.
Making the final choice of provider and the satellite, do not forget to specify diameter of the antenna which will be required for high-quality reception of a signal (is determined by the coverage map) and type of the required converter (Ku or C-range) depending on transponder signal frequency.
4. Buy all necessary equipment.
Enters it:
• offset antenna;
• converter;
• antenna cable;
• DVB network interface card.
When choosing the network interface card compare characteristics of the existing cards and you will select the most suitable from your point of view.
5. Mount the satellite equipment. Insert the network interface card into the slot of the computer and install the software for it. Install the antenna to that place from which the selected satellite is available. Fix the converter on the antenna and connect it a cable to the network interface card.
6. Check existence of a signal from the satellite. Enter signal parameters: frequency, character speed, polarization and coefficient of redundancy of information (FEC) – in the program tuner of the network interface card. Orient the antenna precisely on the satellite, using the data obtained from the Satellite Antenna Alignment program. At the correct position of the antenna the program tuner of the network interface card will record existence of a signal from the satellite. (The exact operating procedure with the program tuner is specified in the user guide for each specific network interface card).
7. Subscribe at satellite provider. After the signal from the satellite is received, visit the website of satellite provider and register as his client.
After that logging into the personal account of the user in which you will find all information, necessary for further actions, will be open for you: PID of a signal, the IP address, possible types of connections, the instruction for their installation, payment methods for services, the guide to all necessary settings.
Having carried out the selected way of connection and having paid the necessary sum for service, you get Internet access by means of the satellite.
