ADSL — modem technology in which the available circuit bandwidth is distributed between the outbound and incoming traffic asymmetrically. It is one of the most popular types of the Internet.
Instruction
1. Select one of operators-suppliers of the Internet. Be guided by your requirements. If you download files much and spend a large number of traffic, it is necessary to select unlimited rates.
2. Having selected the supplier of service, sign the contract with him. Pay attention to everything to the clause of the contract as the carelessness will cost further to you "much". Specify whether the modem and consumables is included in the connection price. Select how connection will be made: independently or by means of specialists of a campaign.
3. If you install the equipment independently, be accurate. Connect Splitter (device which allows to work at the same time on one line to phone and the ADSL modem) to your stationary phone. Respectively connect a patch cords to two other outputs, going to the modem and a telephone line.
4. Lay a patch cord (the special cable connecting the modem and the personal computer) so that to avoid mechanical damages. It is desirable to lay a cable under a plinth.
5. Connect the ADSL modem and the computer by means of a cable which goes complete with the modem. The bulb on the network interface card should light up. It will mean that connection took place successfully.
6. Come into "Control panel", select "Network connections". The dialog box in which there will be a connection on a local area network will open. Click "Create new connection", further "Be connected to the Internet"-> "Establish connection manually"-> "Through the high-speed connection requesting a user name and the password". Specify Login and the password which are specified in the contract. For convenience create the copy of a label on a desktop. Be connected to the Internet. It is ready.
