Practically any computer will be suitable for setup of own house Internet gateway. The only indispensable condition – existence of several slots for connection of network cables or Wi-Fi of the device.

Instruction
1. When it is required to provide a local area network between the laptop and the desktop computer Internet access, I recommend to use Wi-Fi the adapter. It will allow to maintain mobility of the laptop. Buy the adapter which was pleasant to you Wi-Fi. It can be both the external USB device, and the internal adapter connected to the PCI slot.
2. Connect the acquired equipment to the computer. Install the software demanded for the Wi-fi setup of the adapter. Turn on this device. Now open a Network and Sharing Center (Windows 7). Select the Management of Wireless Networks menu.
3. Now click "Add". Set a name of future network. Select safety type from the options offered by a system. In this case it is possible to use the Open type because all of you will not be able equally to connect more than one device to the adapter. If you selected other type of safety, then enter the password.
4. Open settings of the created wireless network. Click "Properties", previously having selected the Internet Protocol of TCP/IPv4 point. Enter the value of the static IP address equal 165.167.176.1.
5. Now turn on the mobile computer. Execute connection to the wireless network created by means of adapter Wi-Fi. Pass to setup of this connection. Set the following values for the Internet Protocol of TCP/IP menu:
- The IP address - 165.167.176.2
- A subnet mask - at the choice of a system
- The main gateway - 165.167.176.1
- The preferred DNS server - 165.167.176.1.
6. Now open properties of connection to the Internet on the desktop computer. Find and open the Access menu. Activate internet connection sharing, having installed a tick near the corresponding point. Specify a wireless network. Activate connection to the Internet.
