The local server is used by web developer for debugging of scripts and testing of the websites and web programs. One of the most widespread and functional packages is Apache which advantages are existence of a large number of modules and openness of the code.
Instruction
1. Pass to the official site of Apache developers. On the opened page in the left part of a window click the link From a mirror of the Download point. Load the latest version of a distribution kit for Windows.
2. Start the downloaded file. Adopt provisions of the license agreement, click Next. Enter a domain name, a server name and the address of mail of the administrator. For installation in the first two lines specify localhost only as the local server. It is possible to leave the port number without changes.
3. In the following window select a standard way of installation. Specify the directory for unpacking of the server, it is desirable to create the separate folder which to you will be convenient to be used further (for example, C: / Apache). Click the Install key and wait for the end of installation.
4. Windows automatically starts Apache as service right after installation. After the message about completion of copying of files enter the address http://localhost in an address bar of your browser. If installation was completed successfully, you will see the corresponding message on the screen.
5. Turn into "Start-up" - "Setup" - "Control panel" - "Administration" - "Services". In the appeared window click with the right mouse button on Apache2 line. For a stop of operation of the server click on the Feet point, for start - "Start".
6. Key parameters of the server are configured in the httpd.conf file which is in the conf folder of a directory of the Apache installation. By means of directives of this document you will be able to change port, the name and placement of the main folder of the program. Also you can set the directory where files of your project should be placed. By means of a container it is possible to set parameters for start of several websites.
