Often Internet access on network should be limited for ensuring bigger safety. For this purpose it is necessary to set special settings for local area networks that users of other computers had no opportunity to go on-line.
Instruction
1. Perform tuning of security prefixes of a system if you do not wish that your computer remained the proxy server for network users. Make sure that to your connection with the Internet the general access is closed. Click the Start-up button and select the Network Connections item. In the opened menu select a line "Display all connections".
2. Find an icon of connection to the Internet as soon as the list of active connections opens. Click with the right mouse button it and select the Properties item. Open the Access tab. Remove a tick opposite to the Use Connection with the Internet for Communication with Other Network Users element.
3. Remove permission to other net surfers on management of the general access. Leave the menu of settings, having pressed the Apply button.
4. Activate the protection set by default in the Windows operating system. Having opened the control panel, find the System and Safety icon. In it select the Windows Firewall tab and click the Use the Recommended Parameters key.
5. Pass to the section "Additional Parameters" after activation of service. Open the Rules for Connections tab. Select the Create the Rule item.
6. Put a checkbox opposite to the For Port element. In the left part of the screen select "Protocols and ports", having activated All Local Ports service. After clicking Next click "Block connection". Several times press Next to save settings. Reboot for use of the set parameters.
7. Try to use programs for traffic management through local area networks. Among many similar versions of the software the checked and quality products are Tmeter and BWMeter. Their functions are similar, but the first option has advantage: the application is completely free.
