Instruction
1. During the work in operating systems of the Windows family start the command processor. For this purpose click "Start-up" which is located in a task bar on a desktop. In displayed after this menu click the Execute point. The cover dialog "Start of the program" will be open. In its Open field enter cmd value. Press the OK button.
2. In UNIX-LIKE systems pass into the text console or start the terminal emulator. Transition to the text console is executed of a graphical environment by simultaneous clicking of Ctrl, Alt and one of F1-F12 keys then it is necessary to enter the credentials for authorization commission. It is usually possible to start the terminal emulator from the menu of a graphic cover.
3. Look through the help on work of the nslookup command. In Windows for receiving detailed data concerning functioning and parameters of the nslookup command use the built-in help system. In Linux for the same purpose it is worth using man or info documentation, having executed in the console of the man nslookup or info nslookup command.
4. Start nslookup in an interactive mode of work. Just enter into nslookup consoles (without any parameters) and click Enter.
5. Change type of the records requested by the nslookup command to MX. Enter into consoles:
set querytype=mx
also click Enter.
6. Browse MX records of one or several domains. Enter a domain name, click Enter. Wait for the end of process of data acquisition by the program. Analyze the displayed information.
7. Complete the work with nslookup. Enter exit. Click Enter. In need of completion of work with the console enter exit and click Enter once again.
