In ICQ, as well as in any client for instant messaging, correspondence with each contact is saved and can be read. It is possible to browse the history of messages in ICQ in several ways.
Instruction
1. The easiest way of viewing correspondence in ICQ - reading histori (the accepted English name of files with the history of messages) standard means of clients of this protocol. As a rule, to open history, it is necessary to enter a message box, having made doubleclick of a mouse on a line of necessary contact and to click in it with an icon in the form of the English letter ""H"". After that the special window keeping all history of correspondence in a chronological order from top to down will open (i.e. in the top there will be earliest messages). By reading correspondence it is possible to execute search by histori taking into account different parameters.
2. Any correspondence which is conducted in ICQ also automatically is saved in .txt the file which can be viewed by means of standard means of Windows - the Notepad. Files of correspondence are saved in the special directory which is in a program directory. For example, the client of the ICQ protocol under the name QIP installed with default settings saves correspondence in a directory to address C on the computer: Program FilesQIPUsers(UIN)History. Each file of correspondence in this directory is called on contact UIN (for example 410865432). To look at correspondence it is enough to double-click according to the file which will open in the form of the text document.
3. The history of messages of ICQ can also be specially saved in separate .txt the file. Saving correspondence is made by the reading histori described in the first step. To read the saved correspondence it is only necessary to find it and to open ""Notepad"" by means of a standard application.
