Creation of a local area network allows to connect group of desktop computers and peripheral devices in the uniform working scheme. For implementation of synchronous Internet access it is necessary to select truly operation parameters of network interface cards of all computers.

- - Network cable;
- - network adapter.
Instruction
1. If you have an opportunity to use the desktop computer as the server, then do not buy expensive routers and routers. For creation of the minimum network which will consist of two computers you will need, in total, three network adapters. Connect the new network interface card to a server computer.
2. Connect among themselves two computers. For this purpose it is necessary to use cross over – the network cable with the return compression. It should be noted that modern network interface cards automatically determine arrangement of cores in a cable. It allows to use practical any LAN connectors.
3. Connect a cable of provider to the free network adapter of the computer. Turn on both PCs and wait for loading of operating systems. Start setup of a server computer. Create and configure new connection to the Internet. Check its working capacity.
4. Open properties of the network interface card which is connected to other computer. Select parameters of the TCP/IP(v4) protocol. Activate use of the constant IP address and enter its value. Avoid the sample IP addresses, such as 192.168.0.1.
5. Pass to properties of connection with the Internet. Open the Access tab. Activate the general access for other users, having specified the necessary local area network.
6. Start setup of the second computer. Select the necessary network interface card if it is several of them. Open properties of the TCP/IP(v4) protocol. Include function of use of the constant IP address. Specify its value which will differ from IP of other PC in the last segment.
7. Fill out the graphs "The Preferred DNS Server" and "Main Gateway". For this purpose enter into them the IP address of the necessary network interface card of the first computer. Save settings. Reboot both computers and check operability of network.
