Existence of own domain considerably simplifies the process of creation of the server on the computer working running Windows OS. The built-in IIS component allows to execute this operation to users without special technical training, without using at the same time additional the program.
Instruction
1. Open the main system menu, having clicked "Start-up" and pass into "Control panel". Open the link "Installation and Removal of Programs" and expand the Installation of the Windows Components node (for Windows XP) or open the Programs and Components node and expand the link "Inclusion and Shutdown of the Windows Components" (for Windows 7).
2. Apply a checkbox in the field of Internet Information Services and click "Structure" (for Windows XP) or open the IIS Services group (for Windows 7). Confirm the choice, having pressed Next and apply checkboxes on all fields of the opened dialog box (to Windows XP) or note all checkboxes (for Windows 7). Save the made changes, having pressed the OK button.
3. Insert the Windows XP setup disk into the disk drive and wait for completion of installation (for Windows XP). As a result of this action on a system disk the new folder with the name InetPub for saving all files, necessary for operation of the server, will be created.
4. Return to the main Start-up system menu and once again pass into the section "Control panel". Open the link "Administration" and drag the new Internet Information Service element on a computer desktop. Open the created label doubleclick of a mouse and expand the Websites node.
5. Open a context menu of the server by click of the right mouse button and specify the Properties point. Go to the Website tab of the opened dialog box and enter necessary data in the respective fields. Confirm application of the made changes, having pressed the OK button.
6. Start the used web browser and enter http://localhostв value a text box of an address bar. Authorize start of the created server, having clicked a function key of Enter and begin to work with the server.
