VPN connection is organized to integrate separate computers or local area networks in a single virtual area network. The integrity and privacy of the transmitted data in this network is as a result provided. VPN connection can be configured both for needs of private networks, and for providing Internet connection by providers.
Instruction
1. Click the Start menu and select the Control panel item. Find the section "Network and Internet". For the organization of VPN connection it is necessary to start the Network and Sharing Center equipment. It is also possible to click an icon of network in a tray and to choose the similar command. Pass to creation of new connection or network, having noted that it is necessary to organize connection to a desktop. Press Next. There will be a request of use of the existing connection. Check No to Create New Connection point and pass to the next stage of settings.
2. Choose the Use My Connection to the Internet command to configure VPN connection. Postpone the appeared request of setup of the Internet before continuation. The window in which it is necessary to specify the VPN server address according to the contract will appear and to think up the name for connection which will be displayed in a Network and Sharing Center. Note a tick Not Be Connected Now point, otherwise the computer at once after setup will try to establish connection. Note the Use a Smart Card point if a remote VPN node connection on a smart card verifies authenticity. Click "Further".
3. Enter the user login, the password and the domain according to which you get access to remote network. Click "Create" and wait for completion of setup of VPN connection. Now it is necessary to establish connection to the Internet. For this purpose click an icon of network in a tray and start setup of properties of the created connection.
4. Open the Safety tab. Install "VPN Type" - "Automatically" and "Data encryption" - "Optional". Note the Resolve the Following Protocols point and select the CHAP and MS-CHAP protocols. Go to the tab "Network" and leave a tick only near the Internet Protocol of Version 4 point. Click "Ok" and connect VPN - connection.
