How to save network connections

When you actively use the laptop and periodically connect it to the same wireless access points, recommend to save parameters of these networks. For this purpose it is necessary to create new connection previously.

It is required to you

  • - USB drive.

Instruction

1. Developers of the Windows Seven operating system considerably simplified process of creation of new connection and saving its parameters. Click the icon of wireless networks located in a system tray. Pass into the Network and Sharing Center menu.

2. Now open the Management of Wireless Networks menu. Click "Add". Select the Create the SSID Profile Manually item, having clicked it with the left mouse button. Enter an access point name. Select safety type from the offered options, for example, of WPA-Personal.

3. Specify the necessary type of data encryption (TKIP or AES) and enter the password of access to network. Select a checkbox near the Start This Connection Automatically point.

4. Press Next, and then – the Close button. Now in the Management of Wireless Networks menu you display network with the set name (SSID). Click it with the right mouse button and pass to the Properties parameter. If you have to deal with networks which hide the SSID, then install a tick near the Be Connected even if the Network Does Not Conduct Broadcasting of the Name point.

5. If you use several mobile computers and want to create identical network settings on each of them, then pass into the Management of Wireless Networks menu. Click with the right mouse button by the name of networks which settings you want to save, and open its properties. Connect the USB drive to the computer.

6. Now click the Copy This Network Profile on the USB Device point. In the following window press Next and wait for completion of process of copying of a profile of network. Insert the USB drive into other laptop. Click two times the created file for activation of this profile. Do not forget to configure the network adapter before saving network settings.
