The file set, necessary for functioning of the website, consists of static pages, images, sometimes - scripts. They can be edited, using the web hosting interface, and it is possible and to load from the local machine - via the same web interface, or using the FTP protocol.
Instruction
1. Only those from files which are stored on a hosting in a text format give in to editing by means of the web interface. It can be, for example, HTML pages, scripts (if the hosting supports their use), etc. Visit the main page of a hosting, enter the login and the password then in the appeared list select the file interesting you. Press the button or follow the link intended for its editing (its exact name depends on a hosting). There will be an interactive text editor. Enter to the text which is stored in the file, changes then press the button under the name "Save" or similar (it also depends on a hosting).
2. To load via the web interface the file from the local machine, find on the page, appeared after input of the login and the password, the button under the name "Load the File" or analoginchy. There will be a selection form of local folders. Select that from them in which the file which is subject to loading and then and the file is stored. Key "Open". If the hosting does not support automatic loading, key "Load" or similar. Some services support loading of a set of files at once. For this purpose archive them, and then load archive, using the separate form intended for its loading (if to use a normal form, the archive will be loaded in the form of the file). The way of use of a form for loading of archives is similar to a way of use of a normal form for loading of files. If it is found out that any given files on the server already are, click "Rewrite" or similar.
3. For loading of files under the FTP protocol you need the FTP client. As that it is convenient to use the managers of files possessing the corresponding function: in Linux - Midnight Commander, in Windows - Far. In support desk of a hosting learn the address of the FTP server through which it is necessary to carry out loading. Select the mode of transition to the FTP server in the menu (the arrangement of such point depends on the client). Enter the same combination of the login and password which you use for a login to the web interface. There will be a file list, already available on the server. Arrive with this list the same as with the normal folder: copy in it files, edit them, delete, move, etc. For an output from an operation mode with the FTP server just switch the corresponding panel to the mode of demonstration of contents of one of local disks.
