How to make mulled wine

The word "mulled wine" was formed from German "glühender Wein" – "hot wine". Drink is traditional for the Scandinavian countries, England, Germany, Austria and represents the warmed-up wine with spices. Mulled wine – the excellent warming means during winter cold weather. Probably, therefore this drink – decoration of a Christmas table in the cold countries and the best means about colds around the world.

It is required to you

  • 7 l of a red ordinary table wine;
    • 7 buds of a carnation;
    • nutmeg ground – to taste;
    • 1 tablespoons of sugar or honey;
    • 50-70 ml of water (at will it is possible to change for tea);
    • to taste: cinnamon
    • lemon juice
    • dried peel of orange or lemon
    • segments of fruit
    • anisetree
    • ginger
    • allspice
    • cardamom
    • orange juice. It is possible to add strong alcohol of type of cognac also
    • liqueur or rum;
    • glasses for mulled wine or thick-walled circles.

Instruction

1. In a fire-resistant pan or a cezve heat water or tea to temperature about 40 degrees. Add spicery, a dried peel to hot water and continue to heat on slow fire until boiling. After boiling disconnect fire and leave spicery to infuse within at least 10 minutes.

2. While spicery infuses, pour in red wine in other pan and put on fire. If it is planned to use for drink strong alcohol or juice – pour in them in wine. Heat liquid to temperature of 50-55 degrees. Don't bring mulled wine to the boil at all!

3. Remove a hot beverage from fire and pour in it in the water (tea liquor) which already gained aroma of spicery. Then add honey or sugar and carefully mix. Pour mulled wine on glasses or mugs, decorate with dried peel ribbons, segments of fruit, and give to guests.
