1. The iron body usually difficult understands. At first open back cover where the electrical wire is connected. Slits of the screws holding cover can be various. Here everything depends on the producer. Sometimes it is necessary to undermine the screw-driver file that it has approached.
2. After removal of cover check power cord. Ring out it by means of tester. Also you can connect to iron terminals cartridge with bulb of 220 V, and then include fork in network. Often the wire vein breaks where the cord enters the iron body. Here it is necessary to truncate cord a little. If fork and veins of wire as it should be, disconnect from sole upper part of the iron for check of its internal elements.
3. When dismantling the body you need to find all screws of fixture. They can hide anywhere. Having turned off mounting screws, be engaged in latches which need to be wrung out knife or the screw-driver. Remember that to what fastened and also in what sequence. Otherwise you risk not to assemble the iron back or to collect not completely.
4. Having executed all operations, separate the iron body from sole. Check by means of TEN tester (the heating coil which is built in at the edges of sole), the thermal switch and temperature regulator. They are connected consistently therefore problems should not arise.
5. If you have no measuring tool, check the safety lock with temperature regulator by their serial short circuit by piece of the isolated piece of wire which ends have to be smoothed out. Include wire in the socket at this time, but do not forget about shock hazard. You will be able to prevent this danger if you do not concern current carrying parts of the iron barehanded. In extreme position the temperature regulator is opened. It joins with characteristic click during rotation. At not closed contacts you can clean them by means of file or strip of abrasive paper.
6. In irons the thermal switch usually fuses. And it can be short-circuited, having excluded from the electric circuit. The iron can work also without working the thermal switch which is additional protection if the temperature regulator will begin "to stick". Only in this case do not forget to disconnect the iron from network at once upon termination of stroking.
7. And if the thermal switch, temperature regulator and power cord are serviceable, the iron can be thrown out or disassembled on spare parts.
