How to make polenta

Polenta is the dish which came to us from Italy. It is cooked from corn grits and can move in different types. In our recipe polenta is served in the form of the pie cut on pieces. It is possible to call polenta a dietary dish since corn grits is very useful and contains many vitamins.

It is required to you

  • 80 g of corn grits
  • 200 ml of vegetable broth
  • 40 g of a desi
  • 2 small bulbs

Instruction

1. We pour out vegetable broth in a saucepan and we bring it to the boil. Slowly we pour corn grits into the boiling broth and constantly we stir slowly. We cook on very slow fire until porridge strongly doesn't thicken.

2. We spread porridge on a wet plate, we form layer by thickness about a finger and we allow to cool down. After that we fry polenta on a desi on both sides to a golden crust. We cut ready polenta on big triangular pieces.

3. We cut bulbs half rings and we fry in a frying pan to translucency. We decorate with onions polenta. It is also possible to decorate it with any greens.

4. One more option of polenta - polenta with cheese. We cook polenta as it is specified in steps 1 and 2. Then on pieces of ready polenta we pour polished cheese and we bake a couple of minutes that cheese melted in an oven or the microwave.
