How to prepare chanakh

Chanakh - incredibly tasty and rich dish of Georgian cuisine. Knowing as it is correct to prepare chanakh, it is possible to please not only the members of household, but also guests as the ready-to-eat meal looks very esthetically and appetizingly. One of the most important advantages of a chanakha is simplicity of preparation and available ingredients.

The following components will be necessary for preparation of this dish: about five hundred grams of mutton or beef, six large potatoes, two average bulbs, three eggplants, glass of tomato juice, pinch of a black pepper, two tablespoons of a melted desi, five tomatoes, bay leaf, chili powder, four garlic gloves, greens, salt.

  • Cut eggplants in cubes of average size.
  • Salt them to the taste and leave for thirty minutes to get rid of slightly bitter taste.
  • Wash out in cold water and slightly wring out.
  • Cut the meat chosen by you in small cubes.
  • Grate carrots, small cut onions, cut potatoes and tomatoes in cubes.
  • Lay out evenly meat on a bottom of pots, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Over meat spread the cut potatoes, then, consistently put layers eggplants, onions, carrots.
  • On carrots put a half of the cut tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste. Add water a little and you will mark pots in an oven.
  • You extinguish within two hours at a temperature of hundred eighty degrees Celsius.
  • Approximately in fifteen minutes until ready of a dish add the remained half of tomatoes.
  • Squeeze out in each of pots on one garlic glove and a laurel leaf.
  • Small cut the made greens.

Before giving on a table add the greens made in advance to each pot.

It is possible to prepare chanakh in the most various ways. From meat it is possible to use: beef, pork, mutton, rabbit flesh, chicken meat. Before giving on a table, at will, it is possible to add to each pot sour cream or mayonnaise to taste. Also, contents of pots can be mixed with green peas or haricot, and to strew lightly from above with polished cheese. This dish is rather universal, to it it is possible to give: bread, cheese, spices, pickled vegetables, sandwiches or to use as an independent dish, that is, without a thing.
