Instruction
1. To force orchid to grow instead of repeated blossoming the child, it is necessary to wait for spring. Success requires the sun, and in the spring in its apartment it is more, than in the winter. As soon as the intensity of lighting becomes satisfactory (the beginning middle of March), it is necessary to choose the healthiest and strong plant at which root system is well developed. On orchid there have to be not less than five green leaves and "live" peduncle with the sleeping kidneys.
2. For stimulation of appearance of the child it is necessary "to wake" the sleeping kidneys on peduncle, that is to intensify their growth. For this purpose temperature needs to be reduced to +16 … 18 °C at night, and to make watering minimum, only that the orchid has not dried up. In the afternoon temperature needs to be maintained +26 … 28 °C and all day to hold orchid in the sun. Sunlight is necessary that peduncles have properly got warm.
3. The sleeping flower kidney will wake up in one and a half weeks. It will start in growth and from it the small leaflet will appear. After that it is not necessary to reduce night time temperatures any more. The orchid should be placed in the warm place, to pritenit slightly, it is abundant to water, moisten air. During this period it is time to begin sheet fertilizing – it will give the chance to children to develop more intensively and to increase leaves.
4. Already to the middle of June of the child will give two-three leaflets and own air backs. At this time they can be separated from maternal plant and to replace in individual pots. It is necessary to cut off children sharp knife with small part of peduncle (1-1.5 cm). The edge of cut is processed by fungicide.
5. Substrate for children consists of crushed fines of bark of pine tree, peat dust, wood charcoal and drainage layer (haydite). It is possible to establish the children replaced in pots in mini-small greenery – it will provide their best adaptation and survival. It is possible to apply plastic bottle to small greenery, or to build framework and to cover it with plastic bag. In 9 months the child ceases to need small greenery. And by the end of the second year it will be already full-fledged plant which is capable to blossom.
