Cutting of trees is considered one of the most important stages of the correct development of fruit-tree. The cut of excess branches allows to provide to plant bigger access of light and air. Therefore to receive rich and qualitative harvest of pears, it is necessary to know how it is correct to carry out cutting.

1. Pear is recommended to be cut off in the spring. If you carry out cutting in the fall, remember that the tree can freeze slightly. This procedure should be made during dormant period when on tree there are no flowers and leaves. At first cut off crown, then shorten escapes.
2. Usually cut off quite old plants – 8-10 years. Branchings on such trees become very much that they begin to feel lack of power supply. At the same time on plant fruit kidneys can not be stuffed up, growth escapes do not reach the normal sizes.
3. You should not cut off tree too strongly. It will cause the strengthened growth of vertical escapes. It is better to do cutting in two stages: part of work - this year, remained - in the following.
4. In the beginning it is necessary to remove all escapes departing from trunk at an acute angle.
5. Further we remove escapes which grow parallel to trunk. Remove also not fructifying shoots. At the same time try not to leave stumps as they complicate overgrowing of wounds. Do not do also too deep cut as long not healing wound can be formed.
6. As far as possible remove the central escapes (the escapes directed to the center of krone). Delete large heavy branch in parts. At first as it is possible file it from below more deeply, and then you saw from above. At the same time the branch has to break off from own weight.
7. Truncate trunk. Cut off it so that the surface was as little as possible more exactly. Do not do wood curves.
8. Process cuts the thief or other special means. Otherwise the emitted juice from tree will weaken it and to attract mean insects. The layer of garden var has to be not less than 5 mm. Besides, some gardeners use latex paints where they add copper salt for these purposes. They provide protection and some porosity.
