Platbands are the integral element of window from facade and all construction regardless of of what material the house is built. To decorate windows with platbands a lot of time and special purpose tools will be required.
In fact, platbands represent frame from board which thickness does not exceed forty millimeters. They are created for frame of windows. By the way platbands are considered to be not only decorative element because they close slots between wall and window case. So precipitation and dust do not fall down in windows and considerably the noise isolation improves.
To decorate windows with platbands, they need to be made. For such work it is necessary to stock up with the suitable tool. Almost full range of chisels (semicircular, flat, corners, tsezarik, with curved edge), knife cutting torch and special knife with the edge which is ground off under 30-degree corner will be required. For creation of window platbands it is necessary to plane dry boards from all directions. In ideal option the platbands have to be wider than window case on 25-50 millimeters. For creation of equal propil it is necessary to use wide cloth. Connection of parts of window platband is carried out by means of the unary deaf or through thorn. The special machine for production of thorns will hardly be required to you as they can be made and manually. For receiving the slot for thorns it is necessary to drill previously several openings, and then to remove partitions. Openings can be done by special drills, and removal of partitions requires metal drill. Thorns are usually fixed in slots by means of the dowels made of seasoned wood. It is not recommended to apply glue to connection of parts of window platbands. From face side of platbands mouldings of certain form and the sizes are selected. Rails are beaten on both parties of platbands. It is necessary to finish production processing of the cut elements. For this purpose the special skin for grinding will be required. Then it is possible to paint or varnish platbands. As for installation of platbands on windows, nails are for this purpose used. Glue will definitely not be suitable for such purpose. Nail better to drive in at distance up to five hundred millimeters from each other. Window platbands fasten closely to face side of box. It will be also best of all if platbands adjoin elbow board. It will be so possible to establish bedside tables in addition. Bedside tables are called thick cuts of boards. They protect bottom of platbands from fast wear. After completion of installation of platbands it is necessary to cover them with special structure.
