One of the most known houseplants is the aloe or as it is often called in Russia, aloe. For certain it is familiar to each of you. However many grow up aloe on the windowsill not for decoration of interior at all and as live medicine which is always had near at hand. As to grow up aloe in house conditions.

1. Try to create favorable conditions for cultivation of aloe, they have to be as close as possible to natural. For this purpose it should be taken into account the fact that the aloe needs large amount of heat and light that, however, does not mean at all that it is necessary to turn the apartment into hot tropics. It is enough to put pot with plant on light, warm and cozy windowsill which is on South side. It is possible to take out safely pot on balcony in the summer.

2. Pay attention to the soil in which the aloe grows. It has to consist on one quarter of sand. Perfectly ready mix will be suitable for cacti (it is possible to buy in flower or household shop). The aloe does not demand frequent and abundant watering. At the air temperature of 15-16 degrees it is enough to water aloe once in one-two weeks. For this plant the rotting of roots therefore it is necessary to think in advance of good drainage in the form of haydite or beaten brick constitutes big danger. Also it is necessary to avoid water ingress in the socket of leaves.

3. During the summer period you can feed up aloe mineral fertilizers though this procedure is not so obligatory. The young plant is recommended to be replaced once a year (spring), old – each three years.

4. The aloe breeds side or top shoots, even absolutely young plants which height has reached fifteen centimeters can give them, and leaves and stalk are rather well-fed. Shoots can have only two leaflets which do not have prickles. The young sprout which has grown at the aloe basis already has the roots and therefore it is capable to live independently. Take out it accurately from the earth and land in the prepared pot with the soil. The shoot has property to adapt quickly to new conditions of accommodation. The first three weeks of life the young shoot especially needs regular watering – three times a week, but portions of water at the same time have to be small.
