The gardeners living in midland of Russia grow up ""blue"" in the conditions of marginal agriculture and receive excellent results. That to achieve it, it is necessary to know some subtleties of cultivation of seedling as future harvest of this southern vegetable also depends on its quality.
1. Sowing time
""You should not hurry with crops of seeds"" - specialists agronomists constantly speak. The best seedling of eggplants having age 45... 60 days, at most 70 days. Crops in January, the beginning of February are too early for midland. By the time of planting of seedling in not heated greenhouses in the middle of May it will outgrow, will be extended, will long adapt and to increase at first root system before starts in growth. Early sowing time is justified only on condition of cultivation of eggplants to greenhouses with heating of the soil and air.
2. Soil
For crops of seeds of eggplants it is necessary to approach preparation of the soil more attentively. The structure of the soil has to be the friable, nutritious and disinfected from pathogens ""black leg"" and others root gnily. It is useful to add humus (biohumus) as eggplants demand more nutritious soil, than tomatoes to the soil.
3. Processing of seeds from diseases
Considering that eggplants are inclined to disease root gnilyam as they demand more humidified soil at cultivation, seeds should be processed from diseases, at least in solution of potassium permanganate of 15 min., then to wash seeds with water.
4. The created conditions for shoots
Seeds of eggplants willingly sprout at temperatures not lower than 25 wasps. At moderate temperatures the shoots will be not uniform and long. So, if seeds were germinated, ""turned up"", then they jump out for 4...5 day. Dry seeds ascend for 8...10 day.
5. The created conditions for seedlings
The first week seedlings need good light that they were not extended and have given strong backs. Temperature should be reduced to 20...22 wasps up to 15...18 wasps day and night. Further seedling well grows at temperature of 20...25 wasps, comfortable for eggplants, day and night - 16...18 wasps.
6. Sword-play
Eggplant it is more preferable to grow up seedling in glasses, without using sword-play. If it is not possible, then at growth 2... 3 presents of leaf (monthly age of seedling) seedlings dive in the same soil mix which was used at crops of seeds. Seedlings land to cotyledonous leaves. For stress relief at change they are watered with solution of one of stimulators, for example, of epin (zircon, energen or other). It is possible to carry out spraying on leaves from the small spray. After change seedling is maintained by about two days in shadow, then expose on light.
7. Watering and fertilizing
Seedling is watered with warm otstoyanny water (25 wasps) in the morning, without filling in and without allowing to dry the soil. At the condensing soil, it is useful to carry out superficial loosening for access of air to roots.
If the soil was initially rather feeder, then seedling prior to sword-play does not need introduction of additional power supply. And fertilizing begins to do one-two weeks later after change. Use complex fertilizers for cultivation of seedling. But if rastishka weak and pale, then useful are introduction of weak dose of the alternated solutions of humate of potassium, calcic saltpeter.
By the time of disembarkation to greenhouses (soil) seedling eggplant has to have strong roots, to be tempered, to have 8. 9 leaves.
