1. On the same garden site cultures which prefer sour soils, neutral or alkalescent can grow. Therefore it is reasonable to separate the site into zones and to carry out soil cultivation depending on what culture you are going to grow up here.
2. Sour soils are preferred by sorrel, potatoes, bilberry, rhododendrons. On moderately sour raspberry, strawberry, gooseberry, tomatoes, carrots, pumpkin well feel. Peas, haricot, dogrose, onions, cucumbers need subacidic and neutral soils. And here currant of all types, any cabbage, table beet will well grow on the earth with alkalescent reaction.
3. There are indirect signs of high acidity of the soil, for example, growth of weeds indicators of plantain, buttercup, horsetail, horse sorrel, popovnik. On subacidic and neutral soils the wheat grass, bindweed field, clover grow.
4. Precisely degree of zakislennost of the soil can be determined by the special device which defines pH-reaction. Such devices are on sale in specialized shops for gardeners. The pH is lower, the acidity of the soil is higher.
