The English style in registration of country houses was created at the beginning of the 17th century. England at that moment was the world trade power, possessed the powerful fleet, occupied colonies. Locks and fortresses have receded into the background.
Houses became more spacious and light. Foreign masters – Flemings, Italians, etc. were engaged in their decor. In the same time the British began to improve landscapes to make the panoramas opening from windows of estates more attractive. Cottages and mansions became the cozy, surrounded surprising gardens. And the internal interior was thought over to trifles.
The hall in the English house has to be ceremonial. Here receive guests, so and the decor has to be corresponding, most characterizing the owner of the house: oak panels, weapon trophies and surely fireplace. The center is caused by frigid and crude climate, without it it is impossible to provide the house in the English style. Finishing of fireplace can be different: the bleached brick or smart board from stained oak, traditional is facing ceramic tiles, use of natural stone is possible.
Traditional windows for the English house are always broken into squares by crossbeams. Earlier it was explained by the small size of glasses as to do them big technologies did not allow. Progress has stepped forward, but traditions remained.
The decor of interior can be modern, but there have to be antiquarian elements transferred from generation to generation. There has to be colonial note: screens from Japan, rotangovy furniture, the Arab carpets and lamps. Walls and ceiling also have the features. From floor to the level of back of chair of wall are covered with panels from tree, are painted marbled or are pasted over with dense wall-paper. The drawing can be miscellaneous, but always soft and quiet. The white ceiling, as finishing is used eaves, modelled sockets are possible. Floor is laid out by ceramic tile of terracotta color, but also other colors, generally light are possible. Obligatory attribute in the English house are textiles: curtains, portieres, bed curtains over bed, curtains of their cotton for kitchen. Even lamp shades have to be fabric, as well as covers just for decoration, cloths and color covers. Color gamma warm, light, quiet. It has to create cosiness. Drawings can be different: the Scottish cage, printed calico in floret, dogrose bouquets. In general English style original, charming, cozy. Formed within several centuries, it treats to traditions with respect, but also it is impossible to call it old-fashioned. Novelties are acceptable always.
