How to make and use infusion of horsetail field in garden

The horsetail field (the national name ""horse tail"") is very rich with silicon acid which strengthens fabrics of plants. It also contains calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron and sodium. Decoction from this plant has medicinal properties for fight against fungal diseases of plants.

You can collect field horsetail everywhere where the damp and acid soil: along roads and on damp glades. Bring together him in April-May. Use part of harvest to prepare fresh broth of plant. Dry up the rest in the dry aired room, for example on the attic. Do not allow emergence of field horsetail in your garden. It is impossible to destroy it.

Field very easily and quickly to prepare fresh or dried horsetail decoction:

  • Largely cut plant stalks
  • Put 100 g of fresh horsetail or 20 g in pan dry.
  • Add 1 liter of water (preferably to use rain water).
  • Cover pan and let's mix infuse within 24 hours.
  • Boil within 30 minutes on slow fire.

Filter carefully broth by means of strainer for coffee or the fine fabric put in colander. By means of funnel pour out broth in opaque plastic bottle (for example, in bottle from under milk). Densely close bottle and you store it in the fridge. Even in good conditions this broth does not maintain more than 15 days. You easily recognize by smell that it has become outdated.

Operation manual:

  • Before using broth, dilute it to 20% (on 1 liter of broth it is necessary to add 4 l of water).
  • Fill in broth in the capacity of the garden spray.
  • Spray on leaves of the processed plants.
  • Repeat process several times during the spring and summer.

Horsetail broth - the excellent fungicide allowing to struggle with large number of fungal diseases:

  • the mealy dew striking vegetables, strawberry, fruit trees and roses;
  • the false mealy dew striking grapevine, tomatoes and potatoes;
  • scab and monilioz fruit-trees;
  • the rust striking coniferous breeds, gooseberry, pear, haricot, potatoes, roses
